Pupil Premium

Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

Pupil Premium Grant

At Booth Wood, we are committed to ensuring that the Pupil Premium grant is directed where it is most needed. The majority of our Pupil Premium children have  challenges in developing their communication skills and require emotional support due to the complexities in their lives.

To meet the needs effectively, we have invested in dedicated staff roles: a full-time Communication Lead and a full-time Mental Health Lead, who is also a qualified Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA). These roles are central to our strategy for supporting Pupil Premium students.

The impact of this targeted support is evident in the progress and success of our Pupil Premium children, both within the classroom and beyond. Their achievements reflect the value of our approach and the importance of nurturing the whole child.

Please see the documents below for further information.

Sports Premium Funding

Schools have the flexibility to use the Sports Premium funding to best support their PE and sport provision. For 2024–2025, our aim is to improve the quality of teaching, increase participation, and promote healthy, active lifestyles across the school.

Our planned use of the funding aligns with the five key indicators from the Department for Education:

  1. Increasing staff confidence and skills in teaching PE – through training and support from specialists.

  2. Engaging all pupils in regular physical activity – increasing opportunities for daily physical activity.

  3. Raising the profile of PE and sport across the school – using sport to support whole-school development.

  4. Offering a broader range of sports and activities – to engage more pupils in physical activity.

  5. Increasing participation in competitive sport – through internal and external competitions.

These priorities guide our decisions to ensure a lasting impact on pupils’ physical and emotional wellbeing.
